Even if the season just started recently, the planning of a perfect end of the winter in the beautiful Kaunertal has already started.

Although people were still wearing flip flops down in the valley, up on the glacier the theme was to put on their winter boots and shred, test and party!

FREESKI AND SNOWBOARD ACTION
As every year everyone who is able to use one or two boards on his legs, is welcome to take part in a competition. The KTO mini shred amateur contest will take place on sunday, October 19th and special prices and goodies are waiting for the winners!
Some „Lucky Bastards“ will also have the chance to compete against some wellknown names and pro riders on saturday, October 18th at the BIG PARK mini shred Contest. Besides 10 invited riders (f/m) in both disciplines, rookies and „Lucky Bastards“ will be part of the starting field. If you don’t make it into the competition you still have the chance to see a high quality contest with some of your stars from the scene.
20.08.2008 23nd Kaunertal Opening from 17th to 19th October 2008
Snowboard and freeski contest, concerts and parties as well as the "Testival" with brandnew material for the 08/09 season are the basics of the wellknown opening. But also new ideas have been discussed and are now being realised.

About 30 snowboarders from nations such as Austria, Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland didn’t mind the weather forecast and took part at the snowboard session at the Kaunertal glacier during the Spring Classics 2008.

Timing could not have been better with the weather – hundreds of fans of snowboarding and skiing enjoyed a fabulous Freeski Session at the Kaunertal glacier within the Spring Classics 2008 – www.springclassics.at.

14.10.2007 Ultimate Kick-off at the Kaunertal Opening 2007
A tremendous start to the season was celebrated by around 3,500 guests at the KTO Kaunertal Opening on 13 October. The comprehensive programme of events attracted not only insiders of the snowboard and freeski scene, but also a large number of other party-goers and sports enthusiasts to the valley.

As every year the ultimate Kick-Off Event of the snowboardscene will of course take place in the Kaunertal: much liked by Sport- as well as Partypeople the Kaunertaler Opening will go into his 22nd round this year!
